GOVERNMENT has disclosed that the number of students benefiting from government-sponsored bursaries sat technical vocation training centres (TVTCs) has increased from approximately 3,000 in 2021 to nearly 13,000 in 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking when he toured the Kitwe Technical Vocation Training Centre, Minister of Technology and Science, Felix Mutati said this demonstrates government\u2019s commitment to investing in youth empowerment and technical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

” We commend government efforts in expanding access to skills training through bursaries and the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). This is the game changer,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Mutati encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities being provided by government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minister also emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and hard work among the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Students should utilize the skills acquired to secure employment and contribute meaningfully to national development,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And KVTC board chairperson, Henry Bwalya, praised government for the support support being extended to the institution through bursaries and skills development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reverend Bwalya noted that there is a significant increase in student sponsorships under the Skills Development Fund (SDF) and CDF programmes, particularly in heavy equipment operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Government\u2019s investment reflects strong confidence in the potential of young people to become a competent and productive workforce capable of driving Zambia\u2019s economic transformation,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Reverend added that the institution is grateful to the Ministry of Technology and Science for its continued support towards strengthening technical and vocational education in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
